Finding Inner Peace Maureen Spencer, M.Ed., R.N. is the Founder and Director of the Finding Inner Peace Yoga School. She is recognized as an Advanced Registered Yoga Teacher with the National Yoga Alliance and is the Program Director of Yoga Teacher Certification at Finding Inner Peace. She has completed yoga studies with the American Yoga College, International Yoga Studies, Integrative Yoga Therapy and Meridian Hatha Yoga Therapy. She lectures locally and nationally on the Science of Yoga and Energy Medicine. Maureen is the co-founder and coordinator of the South Shore Yoga Network.
Maureen initiated a private energy medicine practice in 1993 and has trained in Cymatron Sound Healing, Therapeutic Touch, Quantum Touch, Ear Candling, Magnified Healing and completed Reiki Master/Teacher in 1995. She has taught over a thousand students Reiki and conducted over 10,000 private sessions in the Cymatron Sound Table. She closed her practice in 2007 to focus on teaching and writing.

Infection Control Maureen Spencer, RN, M.Ed., is certified in infection control and hospital epidemiology. She is currently the Infection Control Manager at the New England Baptist Hospital (NEBH), an orthopedic specialty hospital in Boston, Ma. and was previously the Director of Infection Control at Massachusetts General Hospital. She has a Bachelors degree in Nursing and a Masters of Education. One of the original pioneers in the field of infection control, she was awarded the APIC Carole DeMille lectureship in 1990 for excellence in the field of infection control. She has served on many national and local committees for the Association of Professionals in Infection Control and has presented numerous scientific abstracts at national conferences. She was selected as an APIC 2007 Hero of Infection Prevention, which was awarded at the 2007 Annual Educational Conference in San Jose, California. This was in honor of her work in establishing an MRSA and Staph aureus eradication program at NEBH. Maureen has authored several articles and chapters related to infection control and was a contributing author in Barbara Gruedenmann's Comprehensive Perioperative Nursing Textbook and the APIC Curriculum for Infection Control Practice.
